THE REPUBLIC OF ASSENTIA
The State Assembly




Honorable Deputies!

Zur Debatte steht für vorerst 120 Stunden ein Antrag zur Änderung der Bundesverfassung.

Teilnahmeberechtigt an der Debatte sind alle Mitglieder der State Assembly, an der Schlussabstimmung jedoch nur jene welche den Status einer Federal-ID haben.

Constitutional Amendment Bill [Oath of Office]
Section 1 - Purpose
Dieses Amendment zur Verfassung soll den Oath of Office durch eine traditionelle Form ersetzen.

Section 2 - The Amendment
Folgendes wird ein Zusatz zur Verfassung:
Amendment VIII - [Oath of Office]
(1) Der Präsident der Vereinigten Staaten soll bei Amtsantritt folgenden Eid leisten:

“I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will, to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
Eine religiöse Beteuerung ist zulässig.

(2) Der Vizepräsident, die Mitglieder des Kongresses sowie alle anderen Amtsträger des Bundes haben bei Amtsantritt folgenden Eid zu leisten:

“I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter.”
Eine religiöse Beteuerung ist zulässig.


Section 3 - Entry into Force
Dieses Gesetz tritt nach den verfassungsmäßigen Bestimmungen in Kraft.

Honorable Deputies,

Ich bin immer wieder überrascht mit welchen Nichtigkeiten sich der Kongress befasst während wir im uns im Krieg befinden.

Wie dem auch sei, ich finde die Vorlage diskriminierend. Wenn es einer Anpassung bedarf, dann so dass gleich jeder in seiner Muttersprache den Eid leisten darf.

Honorable Deputies,

Ich muss sagen, ich sehe das in etwa wie Deputy Baumgartner. Ganz allgemein gefällt mir die je länger je mehr vorherrschende Tendenz die auch diesem Antrag zugrundeliegt nicht.

Ich rate daher ebenfalls zur Ablehnung des Antrages.

sollte denn ein neues Amendment eingebracht werden, fänden Sie, Mr. Fontaine, sollte dieses Amendment eine Auflistungen von den Sprachen in denen der Eid geleistet werde soll beinhalten oder eine einsprachige Version die in Wunschsprache abgelegt werden kann?

Honorable Deputies,

Ich erachte die zweite Variante als sinniger. Es sei denn man möchte sich auf die in Astor am weitesten verbreiteten Sprachen konzentrieren. Ich persönlich kann beispielsweise nicht nachvollziehen, weshalb der freeländische Kongressvertreter sich nicht für das Barnstorvische eingesetzt hat.
